Highland Beach is a town in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, on the Chesapeake Bay. The town was founded in the 20th century by wealthy African Americans looking for a retreat. Many celebrities have property there, and the current population of the town is 96 residents.

Douglass Summer House – The Douglass Summer House is an important historic landmark previously owned by Charles Douglass, son of Frederick Douglass. It was made a historic landmark in 1992 and is currently a museum. Many significant historic figures have been guests in the home.
